Introduction and features
Now, let’s talk about yet another not widely known but useful feature: Mobile App Widgets. If you have the mobile app installed on any of your devices, you’ll be able to add a few useful Notion widgets to your home screen to quickly access your most important pages. Let’s dive in!
There are three types of mobile widgets available: Page, Favorites & Recents. All are quite self explanatory. Page widgets allow you to create a shortcut to a specific page on your home screen. One widget can point to one page.
The Favorites widget will display your favorited pages from a specific workspace, while Recents will display recently visited pages from a workspace. Both Recents and Favorites can have different sizes, so you can choose how many pages are displayed in a widget. Clicking on a page in a widget will open that page directly.

To add Widgets on iOS or iPadOS, long press on your home screen until your icons start “wiggling” and an “Edit” button appears on the top left. Clicking on “Edit” will reveal a menu where Add Widget will be an option. Once you click Add Widget, you’ll get a list of all the apps that have widgets included. Scroll down to Notion, and choose any of the widgets available from the list.
Once you add a widget to your homescreen, you need to long-press it to open a menu that will let you customize it – choose the target workspace first, and then the target page (only for Page widget). Widgets can display page(s) from one workspace at a time. If you’d like to display your Favorites from two different workspaces, you’ll need two separate widgets.

Mobile widgets are a great way to get a quick preview of your Notion workspace or get direct access to key pages. Personally, I often create shortcuts directly to my most important pages, including my custom My Day dashboard that always guides me through the day.
