If you’ve purchased one of my premium Notion templates and need an invoice, here’s how to get one.
First, determined whether you purchased the template through Lemon Squeezy or through Notion’s Marketplace. If you purchased from my website, you most likely bought through Lemon Squeezy. If you purchased through the Notion app, you would have used Notion’s Marketplace.
If you’re unsure about where you purchased your template, you can search your email to find out.
Search for [email protected]
, or for a subject line that contains the text Your Notion template purchase
. Emails that turn up from these searches will be from Notion’s Marketplace.
Alternatively, you can use the instructions in the Notion Marketplace Purchases section below to see a list of all your purchased templates in Notion’s Marketplace.
Lemon Squeezy purchase confirmation emails come from [email protected]
and have subject lines like Your Ultimate Brain for Notion receipt
. You can search for that email address and “receipt” in order to find any purchase emails from Lemon Squeezy.
If you’re still unsure, you can always reach out to my support team for additional help.
Lemon Squeezy Purchases
To get your template invoice from Lemon Squeezy, head to the My Orders page in your Lemon Squeezy profile.
If you clicked that link directly, and see a login screen, enter the email address you used to purchase your template.
Next, check your email. If you used the correct email to generate the magic sign-in link, you’ll see an email with a Sign In To Lemon Squeezy button.
Click the button to sign into your Lemon Squeezy account.
The My Orders page will show you all of the products you’ve purchased through Lemon Squeezy using this email address. You may see products other than the ones we sell here.
Find the template you purchased, then locate the Generate an Invoice link near the bottom of the purchase record.
Fill out the Bill To: information, and add any relevant notes for your bookkeeper in the Notes field.
Finally, click Generate Invoice.
Your generated invoice will look similar to the one below.
Note that while your bank statement line item may say LEMSQZY* THOMASFRANK
, the invoice’s “Bill From” line will display Lemon Squeezy LLC and its address.
For purchases made through Lemon Squeezy (which is owned by Stripe), Lemon Squeezy acts as our Merchant of Record. They entirely handle the purchase and any associated sales tax processing.
Notion Marketplace Purchases
To get an invoice for purchases made through Notion’s Marketplace, sign into Notion either in the desktop app or a web browser. Make sure you’re signed into the workspace in which you purchased your template.
Note: If you’re unsure of which workspace you used, check your email app for an email with a subject line containing: Your Notion template purchase
. This email will have been sent to the email associated with the Notion account that purchased the template. It doesn’t list the workspace, but it’ll at least help you identify which account you used in case you have multiple.
Next, scroll to the bottom of the sidebar (⌘/Ctrl + \ if it’s not open) and click Marketplace.
Near the top-right corner of the Marketplace page, click Purchased.
Locate the template you purchased and click the •••
button on the right-hand side of the row.
Next, click Download Invoice.
Your generated invoice will look similar to the one below.
Note that the Bill To: name will match the Preferred Name you have set for your Notion account. You can change this by going to Notion’s Settings menu, clicking your name at the top of the sidebar, and changing the Preferred Name field – however, this change will only affect the Bill To field on future purchases.
Additionally, note that the invoice will display the seller as Notion Labs, Inc.
For purchases made through Notion’s Marketplace, Notion acts as our Merchant of Record. They entirely handle the purchase and any associated sales tax processing.
